Ancestry of Elvis Presley
He's Been Dead for 30 Years, but to Many He's Still the King
Though there is some dispute over the origins of his family, you can still find several generations of the Presley family online.
Though I am not a music fan particularly, I did notice that yesterday was the anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. And so, here is his history and family tree to commemorate the day.
He was born, along with his still-born twin brother Jesse, on January 8th in 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. His life began simply and his family had little money. Even so, he followed his heart in music and recorded his first single in 1954. To date, he has sold more than a billion records world-wide.

Now, there has been some conflicting research done into the deeper roots of Elvis' family. Allan Morrison has followed this tree back to Lonmay of Aberdeenshire, Scotland. There, he claims that an Andrew Presley married Elspeth Leg in 1713. They had a son named Andrew who left Scotland for America.
But Hank Jones (from the American Society of Genealogists) has also research the Presley family and claims of different origins. According to him, the family can be traced back to Valentine Preslar of Germany (born 1669), and his wife Anna Christina Framse. They immigrated to America in 1701.
I can make no recommendation as to which source is the true one, and will simply leave this as a mystery yet to be solved with certainty.
Elvis also has descendants, after having married Priscilla Ann Wagner (Beaulieu) on May 1, 1967. They had one daughter, Lisa Marie Presley who was born on February 1, 1968. Elvis and Priscilla's marriage came to an end in 1973.
Lisa Marie has been married several times but only had children with her first husband, Danny Keough. They had 2 children, Danielle Riley (b. May 29, 1989) and Benjamin Storm (b. October 21, 1992). At this time, these are Elvis' only 2 grandchildren.
