As a writer of more than just horror novels, Stephen King's work can be found world-wide, both in print and on the big screen. He has a long family history in New England
Though his work may not be to everyone's taste, there are few writers as popular and well-known today as Stephen King. He is often associated with the horror genre, but the reality is that he has written many books outside that particular arena, such as Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, the Green Mile and Hearts in Atlantis (all three have since been made into movies). The Dark Tower series is another example of his better known non-horror. Ironically, his very first novel (Carrie) was rejected by publishers more than once before finding a home in print. Since then, he has gained world-wide fame, with many of his books and short stories being made into movies. The latest being a big-screen version of The Mist. His ancestry is shown here in an ahnentafel chart. If you are unfamiliar with the ahnentafel chart format, you can find details here. 1. Stephen Edwin King b.1947 2. Donald Edwin King b.1913 3.
